Kate the great bottle availiablity

Here is the scoop. We are going to have 10 Cases of 22oz bombers of Kate available for the 24th and 25th of June. After that we will have the store stocked in the morning with a max of 5 cases per day until the bottles are gone. After that happens there will be no more bottles available. Kate will be on draft and available in growlers as of the 24th of June at 2:27pm. We feel that this give everyone a fair chance to get here for some bottled Kate, in case people have to work on a Tuesday.

Cheers,
Tyler

  1. Hey Tyler, that is a pretty interesting strategy for bottle distribution. You should make sure it gets known in the beer geek community so that there isn't a big rush on any one day.

And you can tell Tod that I said he has to share that bottle of Temptation with you....

  2. OK, so 10 total over the first two days leaves ~30 cases at 5 per day, so we're looking at the following Wednesday, July 1st, as the potential last day to get a bomber until December? Did you guys decide on an individual limit?

P.S. - I'm taking Tuesday afternoon off. Hope to see a decent crowd there and maybe some confused tourists wondering who Kate is.

  3. 37 BA's signed up for Tuesday and it's over a month out...
A couple folks coming from IL/IN....I hope they get their Kate fix.
I am very pleased w/ this "release schedule"....works for many of us who may not be able to get up there on Tuesday.
    Cheers!

  4. Tyler - do you mean 10 cases on the 24th and 10 cases on the 25th? Or...10 cases total for both days? Will bottle sell on the 24th start at 2:27? Thanks.

  5. Well anonymous. we will have 10 cases available fore both the 24th and 25th. And yes the bottles as well as the snifters/growlers are not available untill 2:27pm on the 24th

  6. Someone posted on Beer Advocate that Peter doesn't want to impose a bottle limit. The eBayers have got to be licking their lips over the possibility.

It might be a good idea to impose a limit the day of based on the rough number of people counted in line to ensure that people get their bottles. Three Floyds took somewhat of a reputation hit because people were stuck in line without beer for DLD. The growlers should help there though.

  7. You got 37 Beer advocates saying the are going to show Lets say it grows a little more to even Forty (but I figure that it will be more like around 80 or so in line ) You might want to limit the sales so everyone get at least a couple bombers
Oh ya where do we start the line. Hopefully they made the sidewalk bigger when they tore it up or things could get crowded

  8. They don't let people camp out on the sidewalk overnight in Portsmouth, right?

  9. Hey Tyler,

I am an avid homebrewer who (UNFORTUNATELY) will be out of town for the Kate the Great bottle release madness. It is arguably my favorite beer of all time (along with half the beer-geek community) and I am pretty sad I might miss it this year.

Is there any way you could give the basic recipe out so I could try and brew it myself? Just the basic grains and proportions, hops and yeast.

    Thanks a ton!!

  10. Hey Tyler- what time on wednesday will you start selling the bottles? What time does the gift shop open? Thanks!!

  11. Everything goes on sale at 2:27pm on the 24th bottles/growers/draft/tee shirts (I am not sure what the store is up to with this but something). The rest of the week the store will be on summer hours so I beleve that the store opens at 10am rather then the 11am it is now.

  12. Hey Tyler,

I was just wondering does the shop sell any glassware? Primarily the snifters?

    Thanks

  13. We are currently out of the snifters, bet we are ordering more! If you go to our website there is a link to the company store where you can see what we have as of now. But the store did just get a buch of stuff in that is not on the website so come on in and check it out.

    Cheers,
    Tyler
